Sister Site?

August 30th, 2007

Just curious if any of you are aware of a Catholic mom’s blog similar in vision and scope to Catholic dad’s…my wife and I haven’t come across any so far. Thanks for your help.

Try http://www.4real.thenetsmith.com. It's a Catholic homeschooling message board centered around applying Charlotte Mason's educational philosophy in Catholic homeschools, but we don't JUST talk about homeschooling! There are plenty of discussions about faith and family, too. :)

For what it's worth, I don't think there is one because it's not as necessary. The Catholic Dads blog grew up as a response to the fact that there were so many Catholic mom blogs out there already. Women are natural networkers and so if you find one Catholic mom blog chances are she will link to at least a dozen other moms (and that's a conservative estimate), each of whom will link to at least a dozen more, pretty soon you've got more mom blogs than you can read. At least that's what I discovered when I first started dipping my toes into the blogosphere. I didn't really have to look really hard. I found one mom blogger and followed her links to other moms. Without really trying I soon had a network of virtual friends. Soon meaning it took maybe a year, but now I know so many wonderful moms. But like the former commenter said, the 4Real Forums are a good place to start if you're feeling at sea.
