Since it is the year of the priest, I thought it might be nice to talk about the priests in our lives.
As Catholic Dads, we have the direct responsibility over our domestic Church. As priests they have responsibility over everyone who walks through the door.
We’ve all had experiences of priests, both good and bad, who have helped to shape us and our understanding of the Faith and our love of God and neighbor.
Who has been the most important priest in your life, and why?
Take the poll and then leave your comment telling us who has had the most impact on your life.

Hi Nod, I hope you don't mind that I embedded the poll in the post.
My Pastor is the most important priest in my life, followed closely by my Associate Pastor. My Bishop and the Holy Father are important, as is the superior of my parish priests' order and their fellow, but it's the clergy of my parish who celebrate the beautiful masses I love so much, who educate and challenge me in my faith with their outstanding homilies, who run the parish that educates my children in the faith, and who work so hard to bring me the sacraments: the Eucharist, Confession, baptism for my children, and all the rest.
The vote-thingie rejected my vote, telling me (with a nice ring tone) that I had already voted, but I hadn't. Sounds like voting in my Democrat-dominated county!
Anyway, I wish to vote for Fr. Ron Foshage, a LaSalette missionary and the pastor of my little mission (among other missions), who is joyful, enthusiastic, industrious, orthodox-with-a-small-o, and, to the best of my limited knowledge in such matters, a genuinely holy man.
The most important priest in my life is a monk/priest I see every year on retreat. I have a three-hour confession and reflection on the direction my life is taking when I see him, and it does me a world of good.
After that, there are a few good confessors in town that I value highly as well.
"Confessor" ought to be on the poll.
My vote was bombed out too. I'd vote for a confessor on there also but how can you put one above another when there's the one that baptized you, the one that taught you, the one that saved your life from disaster, the one that brings you Christ, and the ones that you hope are praying for you in the church triumphant. Whew. The year of the priest indeed…
Thanks, Rob. I tried and tried to embed the poll, but WordPress kept stripping out the Javascript. How did you do it?
I will look into whether there is a setting that has to be flipped. If you run into it again, let me know.
