After the passage of ‘Obamacare’, the protests continued from the Church who opposes the federal funding of abortion and the Tea Partiers who resist the government take-over of the health care industry.  That was met with slander and libel from the media who went after the Pope himself accusing him of  ‘touching boys’.  The Tea partiers were demonized as yelling racial epithets to Black Congressmen.  The righteous indignations against these groups have been  from talk shows, news reports, newpapers, the web and magazine articles.  But the mighty propagandists like Goliath was hit by the pebbles of truth.  The incidents surrounding the Pope’s involvement was mapped out and the evidence was presented in a clear and distinct manner from the Wall Street Journal to reporters from the Vatican.  The Black Congressmen’s walk through the protestors was replayed in streaming videos by millions only to hear ‘Kill the bill’ shouted and that’s it.  No  N word can be found in that din.  I have listed references about the Pope’s strict treatment of erring clerics and the links to CNNs extensive coverage of the Tea Parties.

Rick, I don't think there is evidence that the two things are related. I am not so sure what they have to do with the Catholic Dads blog either. I like the nun shot though.

  2. Ricky Vines says:

It's about the political and social issues of the day – specially the attacks against the Pope.

  3. I know these nuns, I first met them at a Tea Party last summer; this was not their first. They're wonderful ladies, from the Sisters of the Immaculata in Libertyville, IL.

I'm a Catholic and a defender of life. All life, not just unborn children. A reformed healthcare system will saves the lives of people who wouldn't normally have care available to them. That includes millions of Americans. I'm against funding for abortion but abortion is a choice while a sick child who can't get medical treatment doesn’t have a choice.

I love nuns just like every other Catholic. But they’re not the brightest nuns on the planet. Tea Parties are notorious for being pro-war and gun toters, pro-war is not pro-life and over 35,000 Americans were killed by guns in 2007.

  5. Rob Kaiser says:

Marquez – you obviously are not a defender of all life if you believe any innocent life can be wantonly disregarded – even to help others. Sorry – your logic fails at a basic level.

Second, it is interesting how you judge so quickly, so harshly, and with such prejudice. Perhaps you should reconsider your perspective. Finally, I find it hilarious how you are upset about guns when more than one million children are killed in the US each year – and that number will now increase because of the lib dems.

Man, use a bit of reason and stop spouting the party line the dems feed you.

The Church should have acted much sooner against Obamacare before it became evident that money was going to be used for abortions. The Church supported Obamacare early on, even though it was a clear violation of the Principle of Subsidiarity as taught in the catechisms, that a community of a higher order (the federal government) should not usurp the authority of a community of lower order (the states). Centralizing our health care system will have predictable results, and those results will not be helping the poor, but increasing costs and lowering quality, which is what has happened everywhere socialized medicine has been attempted.

I am very dissatisfied by the political leadership by the Church in the US, which has given cover to the party of death at every possible opportunity, regardless of magisterial teaching.
